The Wine

The 'Les Bruyères' vineyard, characterized by its limestone-clay soils, produces typically generous and rich wines. This village is renowned for its ideal setting, which contributes to some of the finest wines of the Mâconnais.

This bottling undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation and is aged in stainless steel vats on fine lees for 16 months.

It's beautiful bright gold in color. The nose, marked by white flowers and fruits, is very expressive. The palate combines freshness and fleshiness with subtle hints of pear and quince and is followed by a lively and saline finish. This pleasure giving vin represents insane value relative to their northern neighbours offerings, further north in the Cote D'Or!

16.5 Pts Richard Hemmings MW ‘…Shows a pleasing level of complexity for an affordable burgundy – quite a rarity these days.’

About the Wine Maker

The Famille Paquet estate, nestled in the village of Davayé within the southern reaches of the Mâconnais region, marks the southernmost boundary of Burgundy. Founded in 1980 by Jocelyne and Michel Paquet under the original name Domaine des Valanges, the estate is now under the stewardship of their sons Jean-Baptiste, Mathieu (pictured in pic 2), and Camille. Embracing the family's heritage, the new generation has shifted towards a more natural approach to winemaking, adhering to organic principles. Their progression to organic viticulture has been steady, culminating in full certification. As fervent proponents of the Mâconnais terroirs, the brothers are united in their mission to produce outstanding Burgundy wines that remain accessible to all.
