The Wine

Antinori Marchese Antinori Vinsanto Chianti Classico is a beautifully crafted Tuscan dessert wine that embodies the rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship of the Antinori family. With over six centuries of winemaking history, the Antinori family is known for producing wines that highlight the essence of Tuscany, and their Vinsanto is a prime example. This Vinsanto is made from carefully selected Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes, traditional varieties for this style, which are dried slowly to concentrate sugars and flavors. This slow drying process, followed by extended aging, creates a wine with remarkable depth, complexity, and sweetness.

The winemaking team at Antinori ferments the grapes in small oak barrels, known as “caratelli,” and ages the wine for several years, allowing it to develop rich aromas and flavors. This dedication to traditional methods results in a Vinsanto that is both elegant and layered, showcasing the distinctive characteristics of the Chianti Classico region.

In the glass, Antinori Marchese Antinori Vinsanto reveals a deep amber hue and offers enticing aromas of dried apricot, honey, and toasted almond. The palate is luscious, with flavors of caramel, fig, and candied orange, balanced by a refreshing acidity that prevents it from becoming overly sweet. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering notes of hazelnut and spice. This Vinsanto is a refined choice for dessert wine enthusiasts, and its half-bottle format makes it perfect for sharing or gifting.
