The Wine

A heady blend of Grenache 80%, Syrah 10%, and Cinsault 10%, this is Roger Sabon's superlative expression of Cotes du Rhone that delivers ample substance and warm Mediterranean charm. Matured in a combination of wood and stainless-steel tanks, it boasts both lovely lift and freshness, along with bold fruit and ground spice notes. A truly serious Rhone, super smoooooth and an absolute bargain!

About the Wine Maker

Roger Sabon is a family run business established in 1952. Today, the estate comprises 18 ha vineyard on the eastern bank of the Rhone River, scattered across 14 different plots. It’s a great source of traditional Chateauneuf, where the expression of fruit and terroir is paramount, and oak is applied judiciously. However, what stood out to us from a recent tasting was the humble Cote du Rhone! The Sabon 'house style' evokes velvety wines with silky concentration and the CdR delivers that in spades!
