The Wine

If Amarone is the full-bodied brother of spritely Valpolicella, then where does Pario, with a shot of Ripasso, fit into the family tree? Once the regal triumvirate of Veneto grapes bask on drying tables for 100 days, the first pressing of Amarone takes place. But there is still plenty of tannic treasure and complexity left in those pressed skins. Valpolicella is passed over the skins to create a wine that typically rests between the enjoyable nature of Valpolicella and the decadent bravado of Amarone.

Winemaker Luca Fedrigo lends his skills to the blending process – the magical touch that creates the elegant and lively favors of Pario from carefully tended vines and meticulous hand sorting of drying grapes. Everyone experiences their own flavorful epiphany with Pario – renowned for its well-built structure, palate pleasing acidity and mesmerizing complexity and balance.

About the Wine Maker

Owner, Luca Fedrigo approaches winemaking and farming with a natural, minimalist approach. His philosophy evolved in his teens working alongside the famous Valpolicella guru, Giuseppe Quintarelli. The artistry of Quintarelli in the winery has blossomed in the L'Arco cuvées through a traditional style, long aging, and masterful blending.

The Estate takes its name from a stone arch, called “Arco di Giove”, located on the road to Negrar (one of the seven historic Valpolicella communes) and near the farmhouse where the owners, the Fedrigo family are located. The arch, dating from 1500/1600, was one of a series of seven arches along the hillside path near S. Vito di Negrar.
