Frederick Stevenson Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
The Wine
100% Cabernet Sauvignon from 1960s planted vines situated in Vine Vale, Barossa Valley. Currently tended to by Wayne Ahrens and Suzie Hilder. The label, much like the wine, is a nostalgic throwback to some labels of old and features the heritage listed church that we use as our winery and sometimes cellar door - “Oddio” in Bowden, Adelaide. 6-7 weeks on skins. 2nd use french oak for 14 months on lees. 2 months in stainless steel prior to bottle. The intent was to create a luncheon claret styled wine, that has nice balance of fruit weight, tannin and acidity, without being too dense, dark and tough. 378 Bottles Produced. FS
Fine, elegant and enthralling with perfect density. Moorish Oz Claret! TC
