The Wine

Elodie's Cotes du Rhone plots are located very close to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Soils comprise of red clay soils with rounded pebbles. The blend is 80% Grenache and 20% Carignan which gives a fresh, fruity and lithe wine. Vinified without any inputs and without added sulphites. A satisfying wine of medium weight that glides down way too easy!

Note: Don't be precious with this gem - it needs some air to open and fill out, so decant with gusto!

About the Wine Maker

Domaine Elodie Jaume was established in 2017 following the partition of her renowned family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which dates back to 1826.

Elodie cultivates her 5-hectare plot on the northern slopes of the Cabrières plateau in Chateaunerf du Pape. Her Grenache vines are 70-90 years old, Syrah vines at 50 years, and Mourvèdre vines at 70 years, all thrive in the sandy-red clay soil strewn with smooth pebbles.

She applies herbal teas and biodynamic preparations meticulously across her vineyards, enhancing the vitality of both soil and plants. Her dedication to biodynamics stems from her experience at Cooper Mountain estate in Oregon, USA, and her work at other certified vineyards in the Rhône region.

Committed to organic farming, she sees biodynamic practices as the ideal way to reveal the true character of these esteemed soils. Additionally, she intersperses cover crops among the vine rows to further enrich the biodiversity of her vineyards.

From the beginning, to better understand the unique character of each of her eight plots, Elodie chose to ferment the grapes in separate small vats. She is committed to vinifying the wines as naturally as possible, eliminating sulphur after the initial harvest, and now producing wines without any additives. Aging the wines in concrete vats has become a key aspect of her process, imparted a refined tannic structure and preserving the wines' delicacy and freshness.

Elodie is a trailblazing producer, leading a new generation of young biodynamic vintners who are making their mark on the storied terroirs of the Southern Rhône.
