The Wine

Notes: Minsulphur

Rainbow Juice is predominately Pinot Gris but includes a decent whack of Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat Gordo Blanco. With the addition of smaller amounts of Gewurztraminer, Syrah, Gamay, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Riesling and Grenache, this combination displays darker fruits than in previous vintages but is nothing short of spectacular. There are crunchy phenolics and bone dry acidity that will have you seeking out the nearest charcuterie board.  The wine was filtered to increase brightness in the colour but with no fining so as not to lose its essence and underwent full malo.

Grab a bottle, pull out the picnic rugs and head to the beach. A bit of free run, a bit of skins, a bit of direct press and bingo, a super aromatic textural delight with zippy acidity ready to quench your summer thirst. Gentle Folk Wines

About the Wine Maker

Gentle Folk was started by Gareth & Rainbo Belton in 2013 vintage, with three barrels of wine made from Basket Range. Since then, a move to the Adelaide Hills initiated a steep educational curve to get to grips with biodynamic and organic farming and making wines in a dilapidated shed with no running water or electricity. With four sites now, they make an eclectic range of natural wines that buck convention, while also now drilling down on variety and site. Also, finalists in 2014 at Young Gun of Wine Awards
