Fritz Haag Riesling (feinherb) 2019
The Wine
The flagship Fritz Haag Estate Riesling is made in the “off-dry” feinherb style with about 1.5% residual sugar. It’s not bone dry, it’s not sweet, it’s just perfect. From the hillside of Brauneberg, plus neighboring villages, this textbook Middle Mosel exhibits aromas of spring flowers, bitter almond, yellow plum and honeydew melon. Crisp and refined on the palate with flavors of Meyer lemon, pink grapefruit and marzipan, along with saltiness form the slate soils.
92 Points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate) "The 2019 Riesling is pure, bright and crystal-clear on the precise, floral and finessed nose. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a very delicate and stimulating Riesling in the off-dry style. The wine has enormous grip, and you won't stop longing for it. Absolutely fabulous! 11% alcohol."
