The Wine
The 'Tradition' cuvee is made entirely from Jacques Diebolt’s vineyards in the villages of Cramant and Cuis and Epernay. A blend of mostly Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a small amount of Pinot Meunier. Very bright, refreshing and pure it is very appetising and moreish, leaving the sensation of green apple and flaky pastry behind and the taster wanting more! Superb Champagne for the price!

About the Wine Maker
Renowned for superior quality and a permanent spot on the wine lists of many famous restaurants around the world, Diebolt-Vallois counts as one of the absolute top domains on the Cote des Blancs. The Diebolts started producing their own champagne as far back as the early 19th century. Jacques Diebolt assumed the helm in 1959. His marriage to Nadia Vallois gave the estate both its second name and its additional vineyards. One reason for the extraordinary character and quality of Diebolt's wines is undoubtedly the magnificent collection of vineyards located in some of the most favored sectors of Cramant, as well as additional holdings in Chouilly, Cuis and Epernay. These vineyards include some very old vines which Diebolt uses for his top cuvees. The elder generation has now largely handed the reigns to their children Arnaud and Isabelle. Isabelle is married to Jean-Paul Herbrat, so this is very much a family committed to the expression of grower Champagne. It is Isabelle that focuses her perfectionist tendencies towards raising the bar that her parents have set. The family has 11 hectares of vines mostly across the northern section of the Cotes de Blancs, with a smattering of enviable holdings elsewhere.
