The Wine

This is a saline wine showing aromas of green melon, pithy citrus, and dried grass, with subtle lifted characters and a nutty, oxidative savouriness on the finish. It's fruity, rich and has great balanced acidity. Pure and fresh and just a joy to drink. As always, the more Aligote options the better!

Bio-Dynamic certified.

About the Wine Maker

Domaine des Rouges Queues was established in 1998 by Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey. They farm six hectares biodynamically across 15 different sites in various appellations. The name 'Rouges Queues' or 'red tail' in English, came about by the 'Black Redstart' birds who are resident of the area.

Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey farm six hectares of certified biodynamic vineyards in Maranges, Santenay, and the Hautes- Côtes de Beaune. These wines are an excellent representation of good farming in Burgundy and showcase unique, expressive character of the terrior that is sometimes lost in the bigger estates. These are pure, alive and raw wines crafted with loved by this avant- garde couple that do almost everything themselves.
