About the Wine Maker

La Calcinara is the district in Candia area in the municipality of Ancona that has about 800 inhabitants, in a village at 200m above sea level and 5km away from the Adriatic coast. The soil is characterized by marl, pelitic rocks and calcarenitic banks, with layers of tuff between 10 cm and 2 meters deep. Elevated the presence of fossils that bring minerality to an already rich soil. The clayey-sandy texture is particularly suitable for growing grapes. The proximity to the sea is also felt in the breath of the wind, which covers the grapes with a thin salt powder. On this basis, a climate characterized by moderately cold and humid winters, and hot and sultry summers, prepares ripe and rich aromas, which thanks to the thermal excursions of September and October gives wines full of taste.
